LAGOS – Pretty Okafor, the President, Performing Musician Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) said on Thursday that the association would kick-start its year 2015 activities by hosting the traditional PMAN patrons’ dinner.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
Okafor told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the new patrons cut across all strata of life.
“We will reach out to every stakeholder in the industry, politicians, captains of industries, royal fathers, religious leaders and others.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
“As the tradition demands, any serving President of Nigeria is automatically the Grand National Patron of PMAN.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
“His investiture shall be conducted accordingly, after which the president shall in turn conduct the induction of our new National Patron Order,” he said.
Okafor said that the patrons’ night would take place in February.
He said that after the patrons’ night the association would announce the Nigerian Music Awards (NMA) show, which would hold later in the year.

“We will also look into the areas of business concerns that affect the lives of our colleagues with a view to setting up proper mechanism that will make them better.
“We need quantity without compromising quality and good structures to be able to do all these,” he said.
Okafor also commended the government for recognising the contributions of the entertainment industry to the nation’s economic growth.
He, however, stressed that it should be matched with corresponding plans to make the sector perform better.
“Such plans will help in the development of our young entertainment sector into a world class industry.” (NAN)
