Milgoma (Sokoto State)- A member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Magajii (APC-Bodinga North), has commended the party for successfully employing consensus among aspirants in 20 of the 27 constituencies it currently controlled
Magaji made the commendation at Milgoma, Bodinga Local Government of the state while commenting on Tuesday’s state assembly
primary election of the party.
The law maker, who represents Bodinga North constituency, is seeking re-election for the second term.
He expressed happiness that the primary election was conducted in only seven constituencies.
They include Bodinga South, Sokoto South, Sokoto North 1, Shagari, Sabon-Birni East, Gwadabawa and Gudu.
” This has helped greatly in reducing a lot of problems associated with such primary polls and the unity of the party had been
fortified,” he added.
The caretaker chairman of Shagari Local Government, Alhaji Jabbi Shagari, also told newsmen in Shagari that all arrangements
had been concluded to ensure the hitch-free conduct of the election.
” We have mobilised all the security agencies and the key stakeholders to ensure that the exercise is conducted peacefully,” Shagari added.
The former chairman of the area, Alhaji Abdullahi Danjeka, also expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made to ensure the peaceful conduct of the poll.
” I am appealing to the members of the party and the delegates to be law abiding and disciplined during the exercise,” Danjeka added.
The former chairman is aspiring to occupy the Shagari South seat on the platform of the APC, if elected in 2015.
The election was yet to begin across the state as at 1.00 p.m. in Bodinga, shagari, Sokoto North and Sokoto South local government areas.
It was gathered that the electoral officials deployed to across the local government areas of the state were being awaited from
