Kaduna – Argris Nigeria Limited, an environmental service company, says it will establish a refuse bin manufacturing factory in Kaduna state, to stop its importation.
Chairman of the company, Sani Mahuta, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna on Tuesday.
He said it wanted to use Kaduna as a case study before its expansion to other states in the country.
This, the company chairman, said would be a way of contributing its quota to the Internally Generated Revenue of the states and Nigeria in general.
He said that the establishment of the factory will stop the importation of refuse bins, and in turn save the country more resources.
He appealed to the state government for allocation of enough land space for the location of the factory for production of plastic galvanized containers.
He said that the factory would be a joint venture with its German partners at a cost of over N2 billion.
Mahuta said a similar project has reached an advanced stage in Lagos and would soon come on stream in Abuja.
According to him, if the projects are completed, they will provide employment opportunities to more than 6,500 Nigerian youths.
The Chairman said that the company has been importing and supplying refuse bins to states for more than 22 years, hence, the decision to have its own factories in the country.
He thanked the Kaduna state government for purchasing and distributing 500 refuse bins, adding that the first stage of waste collection is waste containment.
