Lagos – The President, Women Arise for Change Initiative, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, on Friday urged parents and children to engage in regular exercise to enjoy good health.
She spoke at the 9th Inter-House Sports competition of Royal Masters Schools in Lagos.
Okei-Odumakin, who chaired the event, said that regular exercise could serve as a preventive process against clinical ailments.

“Let us know,for instance, that most victims who died through heart related diseases would have overcome the killer disease if they engaged in athletic activities such as running,“ she said.
In her welcome address, the Proprietress of the school, Mrs Olatunji Seniorba, called on government, corporate bodies and relevant stakeholders to support school sports.
According to her, sports contribute to the physical wellbeing of a child and school sports help in the early discovery of young talents.
She, therefore, advised that sport, which was one activity that united the whole world, should not be taken for granted but needed the support of all.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Green House emerged the 2016 Champions at the Inter-House Sports competition.
The competition, which was held at the School premises at Alausa, saw the house came tops with a total of 20 medals -12 gold, four silver and four bronze.
NAN reports that Yellow House emerged second place with 17 medals made up of four gold, eight silver and five bronze medals.
Red House came third with 16 medals – four gold, six silver and six bronze.
NAN also reports that the competition saw pupils take part in various track and field events such as the 50 metre, 75 metre and 100 metre races for the junior nursery and primary sections.
The event, which attracted a large number of invited guests and parents, also featured sports such as high jump, sack race and filling the bottles among others.
Invited guests also participated in the school relay and parents race.(NAN)
