Omu-Aran – Deaconess Omolewa Ahmed, wife of the Kwara Governor, on Wednesday urged Nigerians, especially Christian women, to continue to pray for the nation’s leaders and for solutions to the country’s problems.
Ahmed made the appeal during a special prayer organised by the Kwara chapter of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN), in Offa, Kwara.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that WOWICAN organised a prayer tour of the 16 Local Government Areas of the state for peace, good governance, stability and national development.
Ahmed, who observed that there was no problem or difficulty without solution, said prayers remained the key that could bring about the desired change and transformation of the country.
She attributed the emergence of Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed for second term in office during the last election to the support of the electorate through constant prayers.
“Even when the situation warranted changing from one party to another and it became tense and confusing, it was prayers from every nook and cranny that finally saved the day,” she said.
Prophetess Bosede Adimabua, the state WOWICAN Chairperson, in her remark, said divine intervention through prayers could assist in finding solutions to the nation’s socio-economic and security challenges.
“That is the reason why WOWICAN is embarking on this local government prayer tour plus the skill acquisition empowerment.

“More importantly, there is the need to seek God’s favour, especially at this critical period of our national development,’’ she said.
According to her, the Prophetess Bosede Adimabua Outreach Ministry is also set to empower 50 widows per local government with free healthcare and skill acquisition in trades and vocations.
Rev. Gabriel Ibitoye and Mrs Beatrice Yeye, the CAN Chairman and WOWICAN Chairperson in Offa respectively, urged the women to rise and ensure the nation’s development.
Bishop Ezekiel Oduleke of African Church Kwara Diocese in Offa, in a sermon, said Nigeria was in need of prayers more than any other African country at this critical period of her history.
“That is why you, as mothers of the nation, need to redouble your efforts in order to ensure the desired growth, progress and development envisioned for the country,” he said. (NAN)
