Lagos – The Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bayelsa Government as the official ground handling provider in the Bayelsa International Airport.
Mrs Vanessa Uansohia, Manager, Corporate Communications, SAHCO, made the announcement in a statement on Thursday in Lagos.
Uansohia said SAHCO was chosen as the sole aviation ground handling company to cater for passenger handling services, ramp handling, cargo and warehousing in the new airport because of its safe, speedy and efficient services.
“SAHCO has, therefore, made history as the first aviation ground handler to handle airlines in the new International airport which is built to cater for both international and domestic airline operators,” she said.
According to her, SAHCO, a fully indigenous ground handling company, divested some of its shares to the Nigerian Public in an Initial Public Offer concluded on Jan. 9.
She said the company also recently expanded its operations to the Ibadan airport, adding that it would continue to invest in man-power trainings and modern ground handling equipment to exceed customer expectations.
The newly constructed Bayelsa International Airport was formally opened for flight operations on Feb. 14 with an inaugural commercial flight by Air Peace.
