Sokoto – The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, says the commitment to the unity of Nigeria should be the responsibility of all its citizens.
Abubakar gave the charge on Friday in Sokoto in his Sallah message to Nigerians to commemorate the Eid-el-Kabir.
The sultan said that it is the responsibility of all Nigerians to work for the unity and better Nigeria.
He said that Nigeria must remain as one nation, stressing that people should desist from divisive tendencies.
The royal father stressed that every Nigerian is free to live in any part of the country without discrimination or harassment.
Abubakar commended the Sokoto State Government for ensuring the successful transportation of the state’s pilgrims to the holy land for 2017 pilgrimage.
He prayed for the safe return of pilgrims from the holy land.
While wishing all Nigerians happy sallah celebration, the sultan appealed to them to sustain their prayers for the total healing of President Muhammadu Buhari. (NAN)
