Abuja – The National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) says it will hold peace walk to sensitise Nigerians on the need for peace and unity of the country.
Mrs Gloria Shoda, the National President of the council, announced this in on Friday in Abuja while inaugurating some committees to mark her one-year in office.
Shoda said that the walk, which would hold on July 15, was part of the activities to commence the week-long event of her one anniversary.
Inaugurating the committee, she charged members of the committee to ensure that the event was a success.
The NCWS president noted that the one-year of her administration had brought the cause of women to the front burner.
She said the week-long event would commence with Juma’at prayers on July 14, thanksgiving service and other anniversary attractions.
She said that part of the event was the empowerment of 1,000 women by the Bank of Industry, Lets Go Girls Launch (a sports programme for girls under 4 to 18) and Launch of Women Discount Card. (NAN)
