Abuja- The Head Coach of the national under-23 men’s football team, Samson Siasia, has divided his team into two to honour two engagements scheduled for the next few days.
Siasia selected 21 players for the trip to Tunisia, where the Dream Team VI are to engage in two friendly matches with their north African counterparts.
He also picked 35 players for the team’s outing at the Glo Premier League Super 6, where they are on invitation alongside the Flying Eagles, the national under-20 men’s team.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Dream Team VI will face Tunisia in their first match on Jan.24
The Super 6 event, which involves the top three sides from the 2013/2014 Glo Premier League, namely Kano Pillars, Enyimba International and Warri Wolves, will hold in Abuja.
The event, tagged “2015 Globacom Premier League Pre-Season Tournament’’ and which also has 2014 Federation Cup runners-up Dolphins FC, will hold from Jan. 24 to Feb. 1.
Addressing the players before he released the list, Siasia said the players were selected based on their performance and that none of the two teams was Team A or Team B.
“I and other members of the technical crew have selected the two teams so as to present strong teams in both competitions and so that we will not be disgraced
“All you have to do is go out there and show the world what you have to offer, because that is the only way you can finally make this team,” he said.
The 21-player list has goalkeepers Daniel Shinkut, Akande Asimiyu and Bala Mohammed, with defenders Okorom Stanley, Obanor Erhun, Oduduwa Tope, Sani Faisal, Amuzie Stanley and Sincere Seth.
The midfielders are Azubuike Godson, Effiong Etim, Obochi Eneojo and Godwin Amunde.
The forwards are Odibo Godwin, Tiongoli Tonbara, Omofoman Freedom, Etebo Peter, Ajayi Oluwafemi, Adetunji Sunday, Peter Samuel and Ewenike Chibuike.
The list of 35 players has Usman Mohammed, Newman Doubra, Solomon Ayoleke, Ikenna Nwobusi, Faisal Sheriff, Iroha Chukwuebuka, Christopher Madaki, Chijioke Omeke, Olawale Doyeni, Moughara Dede and Temitope Jayeola.
It also has Michael Okoro, Edmund Chinedu, Ubakanma Peter, Sunday Lawrence, Eze Chisom, Chinedu Obasi, Osita Simon, Oyeleye Adeniyi, Izumi Okoronkwo, Josemaria Oteze, Jonah Usman, Daniel Amackson and Andrew Michael.

The rest are Emmanuel Daniel, Baker Ebiabowei, Ola Adeyemo, Akande Abiodun, Jonatham Osondu, Ichull Lordson, Austine Amutu, Abubakar Danbala, Ibrahim Adamu, Yahaya Adamu and Zaradeen Usman.
Siasia will handle the team to Tunisia while team assistant coach Fatai Amoo will be in charge of the team taking part in the Super 6.
The 36-man delegation to Tunisia is expected to depart from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Thursday night via an Emirates Airline flight.
Team secretary Sirajo Hassan said the delegation is to be led by Babagana Kalli, a member of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) board.
“It is expected to return to the country on Jan. 30, and all necessary details for the trip have been worked out,’’ he said.(NAN)
