Port Harcourt -Wives of Nigerians in South Africa, an association of South African women married to Nigerians, on Monday said they would collaborate with the Federal Government to promote mutual policies and programmes.
A spokesperson for the group, Mrs Anne Ozokoye, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on phone from Pretoria, South Africa.
Ozokoye, a South African, said women in the Southern Africa region married to Nigerians were determined to create a home for their families while also collaborating with the Nigerian government.
“ We want to create a home for all women who are married to Nigerians in Southern Africa countries.
“ We want to support each other in our endeavours to advance our communities.
“ We want to develop relationship with our government so that when policies are initiated, we should be part of the process.
“ We want to form a relationship with those processes,“ she said.
She said the group, which has 100 members, would partner with the Federal Government to create a sense of belonging for members.

“ We will like to work with Nigerian women as sisters; we will like to learn from them since being married to Nigerians, we are now part of the Nigerian polity,’’ she said.
Mrs Jackie Lamola, a member of the association, also said the group was determined to build a united relationship among members.
Lamola, Chief Director in the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs in South Africa, said members needed to support each other to build their individual families.
“ Families know no boundaries, families are unique, so we need to build up families and offer support,“ she said. (NAN)
