Lagos – The Nigeria Professional Squash Players of Nigeria (PSPAN) says players are gearing up for the second edition of the prestigious Alake of Egbaland Junior Championship scheduled for November.
PSPAN’s President, Seun Peters, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos that the players were ready for the tournament which he hoped would be better than the maiden edition held in 2015.
“It is a national tournament and the players are already training for it;it is going to be highly competitive.
“We believe competitions like this will keep our players engaged and improve their skills,’’ Peters said.
Peters appealed to private and corporate companies to keep the players engaged in order to improve their skills.
Abel Shedrack of Ogun won the maiden edition in a keenly contested final with Micheal John of Lagos State.
NAN reports that a coaching clinic/seminar will hold from Oct. 10 to Oct. 15 in Lagos.
