Brussels – A suspect who had been sought by police for more than four months in connection with the November terrorist attacks in Paris has been arrested, Belgian media reported on Friday.
Belgium had issued an arrest warrant to Mohamed Abrini on November 24, after finding video surveillance footage of him with Paris attack suspect Salah Abdeslam at a petrol station in northern France two days before the killings.
Abrini was driving a Renault Clio car that was used in the Paris attacks, prosecutor said.
The broadcasters VRT and RTBF both reported that Abrini, a 31-year-old Belgian national, has been taken into custody, but did not immediately offer more details on the arrest.
Belgian police had described Abrini last year as “dangerous and probably armed.” (dpa/NAN)
