Benin – The Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Faraday Olumwense on Friday inaugurated the Faculty of Agriculture Staff Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Secretariat worth about N150 million.
Olumwense said that the university, apart from being a citadel of excellence, was committed to all round sustainable development.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the secretariat consists of a 500-seater hall, warehouse, shopping complex and offices.
He commended the society for establishing numerous projects, including a petrol station within the institution.
He said that a proper maintenance culture be put in place to ensure longevity of the secretariat and its facilities.
The President of the society, Dr Christopher Ada-Okungbowa said the secretariat complex ”is a utility building that will add value to the host institution.”
He said the society had over the years rendered quality services to its members and helped members to meet their financial obligations. (NAN)
