Abuja – A Media Consultant, Mr Emmanuel Iriogbe, says it is time for the Nigerian Government to look inward because the Trump Presidency will no longer embark on giving free grant to needy countries.
Iriogbe told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Wednesday that it was necessary for Nigeria to look for a way to internally develop its economy to attain economic freedom from America and others.
According to him, Americans are ready to consentrate on their internal affairs which will be to the detriment of third world nations that have always looked up to them for succour.
“Trump is going to look inward as he said in his campaign slogan ‘ we are going to take America back.
“They are going to look inward and see how they can capture their country for America and Americans.
“It is a clarion call for us Nigerians to develop our economy internally and stop looking up to the west for assistance.
“The world is closing up not with Brexit and now the Trump Presidency, the west have shown that countries must develop their economies and their institutions before thinking of others to help,” he said.
He also noted that Nigeria did not benefit from the Obama administration, since he refused to give the country arms to fight Boko Haram.
“Obama further ensured that America stopped buying our oil and capped it by refusing to visit Nigeria for the eight years he was in power,” he said.
