Maiduguri- Voting is still ongoing in nine polling units in Borno, according to Mr Tommy Magbuin, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Public Relations Officer (PRO) in Borno.
Magbuin told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Maiduguri on Sunday that the affected polling units were located in three local government areas of the state.
He listed the areas to include Maiduguri metropolis, Jere, and Hawul.
The PRO said five polling units were affected in Jere, two units in Maiduguri and two polling units in Hawul local government area.
“The two polling units affected in Maiduguri are Gwange 11 and Yerwa Secondary School and the five units in Jere are Kaka-Yazdaram, Biriri, Ajari, Kittla and Gongolang-Lawani.
“The two polling units affected in Hawul are Kwaya-Bura and Ndragina.’’
He said voting could not hold in the affected units on Saturday due to late arrival of materials and malfunction of the card reader.
He, however, added that election was expected to be concluded on Sunday. (NAN)
