Women forum donates food items to 3 orphanages in Kaduna

Karina     –     Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC), Women Forum has donated food items worth a million naira to three orphanages in Kaduna State.

The President of the Forum, Hajiya Basira Aliyu made the donation on behalf of the group in Kaduna on Sunday to the three orphanages.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the three orphanages were Blessed Touch Orphanage, Faith Work Orphanage and Al-Ihsan Balsuma Children Home.

NAN also reports that items donated to the orphanage homes include 12 bags of grains, four bags of Garri, four bags of Beans, four bags of sugar and four bags of Rice.

Also donated to the homes were 20 cartons of soft drinks, 16 cartons Spaghetti noodles, 16 cartons of Indomie noodles, four kegs of 25 liter vegetables oil and palm oil.

Other items donated include four sacks of Dangote salt, four packs of toothpaste, four packs of Vaseline jelly, four cartons of soap, four packs of detergent and one pack of tissue papers.

The president of the forum, Hajia Aliyu, speaking at one of the orphanage homes, said it has been the agenda of the group to help the orphans and the less privileged persons in the society.

“We give out this donation every quarter; we source for the money by levying ourselves and also the Management of KRPC also helped us.

“We are parents, we know what an orphan needs, that is why we donate, we tax ourselves and buy items and other things to give to the orphanage for their well being.

“As mothers, we have to touch the life of orphans, and it is through program like this that we can touch them,” she added.

Mrs Aliyu said the program had been going on for many years under the forum, adding that it is a quarterly affair.

NAN repot that the three orphanages that benefited from the donation expressed their happiness and appealed to the government at all levels and wealthy individuals to also come to the aid of orphans.

“An orphan is also a future leader, if you help them, is a help to mankind and humanity.”
