Brown recalled that there were three attacks over past week where girls were used which blew them up in crowded areas in the country.

He said that, in contravention international law, children were now being fired on indiscriminately as easy targets by Boko Haram.

Brown said they were also exploited as slaves and sex objects and deployed as suicide bombers.

He stressed that “as we approach first anniversary of the kidnapping of more than 200 Nigerian girls from their Chibok school, we must resolve to do more against Boko Haram.

“We must ensure that children are better protected by supporting President Goodluck Jonathan’s Safe School Initiative.

“It is time for whole world to condemn Boko Haram’s evil use of young girls as suicide bombers to carry out their murderous attacks.

“These children have been exploited and abused.

“We must do everything in power to protect others who might be forced into becoming suicide bombers committing even more violent and shocking atrocities.

“As we approach first anniversary of the kidnapping of the Chibok girls from their school, we must resolve to do more to ensure children are in safe schools and not victims of senseless acts of war.’’ (NAN)
