Damaturu- The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Yobe, Alhaji Adamu Waziri, on Sunday, promised to establish Ministry of Empowerment to fight poverty in the state.
Waziri made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in Damaturu.
He said “there is no deliberate policy by the state government to promote entrepreneurship to stimulate economic growth and employment opportunities in the state.
“Sadly, the Yobe State Government has failed to provide an enabling environment to establish industries nor a single individual that is economically buoyant to establish industries, employ our youths and spur economic growth.

“I wish to bring my experience acquired in NAPEP to fight unemployment and poverty.
“My heart weeps for the energetic youths willing to work but poor political will and weak governance have refused them this opportunity, thereby making the state and the people on the last ladder of development in Nigeria.’’
The guber candidate said that with viable economy, the youth would be fully engaged to shun vices.
Waziri noted that Yobe had suffered failure for too long, saying the state must be rescued for it to move along with its pairs in terms of infrastructure development.
He urged the people to vote for good leadership with focus to improve on their lives. (NAN)
