Kanem (Plateau)- The Deputy Speaker, Plateau House of Assembly, Yusuf Gagdi, on Thursday donated food items worth more than N2 million to widows and the less privileged in Christian communities in Kantana constituency.

According to Gagdi, who represents the constituency in the state assembly, the gesture is to show support to the Christians in his domain as they celebrate Christmas.

He described his constituency as the poorest in the state, hence the need to assist the people with the commodities they would require for Christmas celebration.

“My people are the poorest and the most backward in the history of this state.

“So helping them to feed well in this special season is imperative,’’ he said.

Some of the items distributed are rice, maize, cooking oil, salt, and beverages. (NAN)
