2018 Hajj: Kwara completes registration of 1500 intending pilgrims

Ilorin   –     Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board said that 1500 intending pilgrims have completed payment ahead of the commencement of the 2018 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

Alhaji Mohammed Tunde-Jimoh, the Executive Secretary of the Board,said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in llorin that the affected pilgrims had also completed the mandatory online registration.

NAN reports that a total of 2,200 seats were allocated to the state by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

“Inoculation and other medical screaming for the intending pilgrims travelling with the board, will commence next week.

“I wish to warn intending Pilgrims that the ban on pregnant women from performing hajj with the board is still in force, anybody detected carrying pregnancy during the medical screening, will be disqualified.

“This is to remind the intending pilgrims from carrying Kolanuts, Tramadol and other prohibited drugs, which attracts serious penalty in the Holy Land.

“A befitting accommodation have been secured for the comfort of the pilgrims in both Makkah and Madinah,’’ he said.

The executive secretary commended the Kwara Government for the provision of necessary logistic towards successful Hajj operation in 2018.

NAN reports that the board has held series of sensitisation programmes for the pilgrims across the 16 local government areas of the state.
