Lobi Stars’ central defender, Anthony Agbaji has said his side’s wealth of experience will unsettle their Federation Cup round of 16 opponents, Plateau United.
The Glo Premier League side will clash against the former Cup holders in the round of 16 tie on Thursday at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna.
The Makurdi-based side pipped the amateur side, Yarmalight 1-0 in the Cup round of 32 in Abuja while the Nigeria National League (NNL), Plateau United saw off Glo Premier League newcomers, FC Taraba 2-0 to pave the way for the crunch quarterfinal ticket spot clash.
Agbaji said his side will accord the Tin City landlords due respect off the pitch but will be ruthless on the pitch aimed at earning a decent result to progress to the last eight of the annual football fiesta.[eap_ad_2]
“Experience will certainly count in our favour against Plateau United when both sides clash on Thursday in Minna.
“Plateau United have shown themselves as a quality side in the Federation Cup, we’re equally an experienced side in the Cup competition, too.
“We’ve steeled ourselves for a tough challenge but a tussle that will see us smile at the end of the game.
“We won’t underrate the side rather treat them as equal, at least, for them to have earned their place in the round of 16 showed character and quality but I’m certain they would have seen their last in the Cup competition by the time we’re done with them,” said the Lobi Stars strongman to supersport.com.
The 2012 Cup losing finalists will depart their Katsina-Ala base on Wednesday to Minna for Thursday’s Cup clash against Plateau United. (supersport.com)[eap_ad_3]
