Uyo – The Akwa Ibom Government says former Governor of old Cross River, Sen. Donald Etiebet will be buried on Dec. 11.

The then Cross River was made up of what is now Akwa Ibom and Cross River.
The statement said the deceased, aged 85, was a lawyer, committed patriot, statesman, community leader and an invaluable asset to Akwa Ibom.
The government said it “regretted the death of this illustrious son and that the burial as announced was done in consultation with the family.
“We wish to notify members of the public and sympathisers that Mourning House had since been opened with the proclamation of the death of Sen. Etiebet (Akpan Annang).
“We urge friends, associates, the political class and sympathisers to join us to bid our elder statesman farewell”, the statement said.
