Face of Culture Africa beauty queen to sensitise childern on values

Abuja  –   Face of Culture Africa, Miss Jennifer Okechukwu says she is embarking on campaigns to sensitise Nigerian children on proper values to enable them grow up to become responsible adults.

This is contained in a statement issued by the beauty queen in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the campaign tagged “Our Children, Our Future” is to commemorate the 2016 Children day’s slated for May 27.

The beauty queen stated that the event was also geared towards developing the mental strength and abilities of the children.

“An opportunity such as this provides the fulcrum for us to reflect and take cognisance of the vulnerability and sensitivity of children.

“It is also an opportunity to reflect on the role we all have to play in molding the character, attitude and approach to life of our children.’’

She added that different activities had been organised to mark the celebration.

According to her, there will be a football competition, Talent Hunt Show as well as a Reading Competition, among others to strengthen their mental abilities.

“It is incumbent on me as the reigning queen of culture to embark on these programmes, as I strongly believe that children are the leaders of tomorrow.’’

The beauty queen urged parents, government, media and Nigerians to support the campaign in order to secure the future of the Nigerian child.

“Wayward children lead to a way-ward society, I enjoin you all to act well your parts in order to breed children who shall do our nation proud.

“Children are the pride of our society, they are the future, it is therefore pertinent that we act as guides, encouraging and leading them in the right direction.

“This will help and encourage them pursue their dreams and become meaningful specifics to our society at large,” she stated.
The beauty queen would visit orphanage homes as well as Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in Benue and Borno.

“By God’s special grace, homes shall be given to the IDPs as well as special donations which shall be made to the underprivileged.

“As a staunch believer in the value of education, I shall take full responsibility in the payment of tuition fees for exceptional pupils in the primary levels.

“Donations will equally be made to the Motherless Babies Homes and the grand finale shall be the presentation of awards to outstanding students,” she said. (NAN)
