‘Fashola tampered with evidence at Lekki Toll Gate’ – Lagos Judicial Panel

The state judicial panel on police brutality has accused Minister for Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola of tampering evidence at the Lekki Gate during yesterday’ inspection of the premises.

Fashola found the device while on tour of the place where #EndSARS protesters demonstrated for 13 days before they were forcefully dispersed.

There has been a controversy over the number of those and the persons who sustained injuries.

Reacting to the development, a member of the judicial panel on police brutality, Ebunolu Adegboruwa, described the inspection as “ tampering evidence”.

Mr. Adegboruwa stated ;

“Since the Panel has been vested jurisdiction over the Lekki Toll Plaza, verily believe that is for anyone else to conduct any visit to the said Lekki Toll Plaza in the absence of and without the authority and consent of the Panel.”

He added that the Lagos judicial panel treat the delegation’ inspection of the site as contempt, and that the panel summon individuals perceives to have obstructed .

The Doris Okuwobi-led panel begins sitting today at the Lagos of Arbitration Centre, Lekki.
