In the statement issued by the team’s Media Officer, Samm Audu, Ibrahim said the players have given the Flying Eagles technical crew good assurances.

“For instance, Musa Yahaya is off to Malaysia for an invitational tournament with the youth team of his Tottenham Hotspur club in England.

“But he has called to say he will join us as soon as he returns.

“Chidera Eze of Portuguese club FC Porto has also assured he will come in before the Jan. 15 deadline set by the coach for all overseas-based players to report to the training camp in Kaduna,” he said.

The statement said Sweden-based Taiwo Awoniyi and Musa Muhammed were the only foreign-based players now training with the AYC-bound squad so far.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the other foreign-based players called up include Moses Simon, Kingsley Madu, Isaac Success, Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidiebere Nwakali.(NAN)
