Dutse – The Jigawa chapter of the Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI) has commenced the training of its 450 members on security, safety and First Aid.
The Secretary of the group, Malam Muhammad Babangida, told newsmen on Wednesday in Dutse that the programme was to complement government’s efforts to provide security, safety and disaster control in the state.
“The JNI feels it should contribute its quota to national security, health and disaster control through full participation in security and social responsibilities in the society,” Babangida said.
He said that the organisation which had nine branches across the state would commence the training on May 11 and it would last for 35 days in batches.
“The beneficiaries will be trained on modern security approach, improved peace, conflict prevention, peace building, first-aid, accident prevention and environmental hazard.
“Islam means peace, so it is the duty of all Muslims to promote peace, assist each other and prevent accident not only on the road but all over the place even in our houses,” the secretary said.
He, however, said that the group was facing shortage of funds, but that it would do its best to contribute to national security and peace building. (NAN)
