Kano – The Kano State Water Board on Saturday urged water consumers in the state to settle their water bills to enable the board to provide uninterrupted potable water to the populace.
The General Manager (Commercial) of the board, Mr Auwalu Mohammed, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano.
Mohammed said settlement of bills would assist the board in carrying out regular maintenance of its facilities, payment of staff salaries and electricity bills.
He said that the aim of the board was to ensure regular provision of water and maintenance of its equipment.
“Garin Malam water treatment plant and pipelines are underway.
“Also, the 100mm tile pipe laying from Tambarawa water treatment plant to Hadejia road roundabout will start soon,” he said.
Mohammed urged consumers to report any water leakage to the nearest office of the board to ensure prompt repairs and to avoid water contamination.
