UMUAHIA – Felix Levi, the Goalkeeper Coach of Nembe City FC, said the team would be overhauled before the commencement of the second stanza of the premier league.
Levi said this during interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) after the team’s 4-0 defeat by Abia Warriors FC in midweek encounter at Umuahia Township Stadium.
He expressed disappointment at the margin of defeat and blamed it on the internal wrangling among the players.
“I am so disappointed with the boys, especially with their attitude. Most of them were quarrelling in the field, which is not supposed to be.
“Whatever your differences, do not bring them to the field because they will affect the performance of the whole team.
“They had issues among themselves and they have seen the result of not playing together as a team and that it is not right to take personal differences to the pitch
“Thank God there is a break; we are going to change the team. We are going to look for some new players by the grace of God, hoping that funds will be made available’’, the coach said.
He also attributed the club’s poor performance in the first stanza of the competition to late preparations and the infusion of new players into the team.
“We believe we will bring some new and mature players that will help us out of the tight situation’’, he said.
Coach Ladan Bosso of Abia Warriors said the team planned for victory.
Bosso said he was glad that he had built a winning team with young players, having got rid of the old players that often created problems for him.
He said his target was to qualify the team for continental championship at the end of the league.
Peter Onyekachi scored a hat-trick in the 28th, 57th and 86th minute, while Daniel Jackson scored in the 66th minute. (NAN)
