ABUJA – There are indications that Chief Olisa Metuh, national publicity secretary of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), slumped during the commissioning of the caretaker committee of the PDP Yobe and Borno states chapter.
Although the reports have since been denied in some quarters, NAIJ.com confirmed that he actually slumped, but it was actually much later, after the event.
The source said: “While we were having series of event today, just about the time we were to start that of Borno state, chief Metuh slumped.
According to the source, Metuh had a spinal surgery and had a disc implant at his back. He was reported to have slumped falling on his back.
“Since after the surgery the doctor had asked him not to stay at a particular place for a long period of time.
“However since his trial, the PDP spokesperson has been known to either sit or stand at a particular point for a long period of time in court,” the source added.
It was gathered that on Metuh could not walk into the hospital by himself as he was carried into the hospital on a stretcher.
The source told NAIJ.com that Metuh is currently receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National Hospital in Abuja. (NAIJ)
