Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Rep Fom Dalyop (LP- Barkin-Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency) has called for a full-scale investigation of the recent attacks in Plateau where over 200 people were killed, many injured and properties worth billions destroyed.

Dalyop made the call in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Jos.

The House of Representatives member said a full-scale investigation of the unprovoked and dastardly attacks in Plateau and other states be done with a view to curtail further attacks by law abiding Nigerians. https://sundiatapost.com/philanthropist-kefiano-decry-plateau-attacks/

He described the Christmas Eve attacks as a genocidal attacks that  attracted national and global condemnation from all well-meaning and peace loving Niger and personalities

Dalyop expressed sadness that the attacks came when the innocent victims were celebrating joy, peace, and love associated with the Christmas season further confirms the wickedness of the hearts of the perpetrators.

He said that the attacks lasted more than four hours, though the nearby security forces might have responded, and their efforts were probably largely hindered by the difficult terrain of the area.

The lawmaker, however, received the immediate response of the President and Commander in Chief of the Nigerian Armed forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. https://sundiatapost.com/plateau-attack-be-more-vigilant-rep-tells-constituents/

“He sent a high-powered delegation, led by the Vice President, Kashim Shettima.

“He did not only condemn the wicked act of the perpetrators but also visited some of the affected areas to get first-hand information.

“He further directed that the killer’s and destroyers be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.

“We pray that this presidential directive will yield fruit in no distant time, as it will not only bring succor to the affected persons and communities, but also serve as a deterrent to the perpetrators of this, and similar genocidal attacks.

“The security forces should therefore take advantage of this presidential  directive and ensure that the needful is achieved,” he said.

The lawmaker stated that the affected areas air support/surveillance to assist the troops to effectively provide protection and understand the mode of operation of the bandits.

According to him, the Federal Government should, in addition to investigation, consider immediate despatch of relief materials to the survivors, most of whom are presently in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.

Dalyop added that compensations for properties lost and their early return back home should also be a matter of urgent accomplishment.

He assured the people of the commitment of lawmakers to continue to make laws that would promote peace and peaceful coexistence.
