 Sources close to the family of former Petroleum Minister, Dr. Rilwanu Lukman say he is dead.

 Dr. Lukman, who served as Secretary General of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) from January 01, 1995 to December 18, 2000, was born in Zaria, Kaduna State on August 26, 1933.

He had earlier served as minister of mines and steel in the military regime of General Muhammadu Buhari from January 1984 to August 1985.
