Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Management of University of Ilorin has dismissed as false the news report in some newspapers on Tuesday that Unilorin has increased its tuition fee.
Unilorin stated this on Tuesday in a statement signed by Head, Corporate Affairs, Unilorin, Kunle Akogun and sent to Sundiata Post.
The school which says the university is still running 2016/2017 academic session, added that the management has never met to decide on any fee increase.
According to the statement, “Unilorin, being a federal government institution doesn’t charge tuition fees, as tuition is free in public universities.
“The little charges we collect are for utilities and not for tuition, the statement added.
It therefore urged Unilorin students to disregard the report saying that peddlers of the fake rumor are meant to cause unnecessary panic among Nigerian Parents.
Sundiata Post recalls that some newspapers on Tuesday (today) listed Unilorin among 38 universities that have increased their tuition fees.
