Abuja – Ahmadu Abba, coach of Taraba Hurricanes basketball club of Jalingo, on Wednesday in Abuja said his team would prepare better for the Zenith Bank Basketball League’s second phase.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Hurricanes are currently participating in the first phase of the 12th edition of the national women basketball league at the National Stadium.
However, they have recorded five losses in the five matches they have so far played in the league which began on Saturday.
Abba told NAN, following the team’s 32-43 loss to Nasarawa Amazons of Lafia on Wednesday in Abuja, that the team would re-strategise and be better in the league’s second phase.
“In spite of our present losses, we will bounce back. We will be better in the second phase,’’ he said.

“Our performance today (Wednesday) is okay. At least, we have stepped up a little bit. We are scoring more points now and I believe that the team would do better.
“We didn’t have a camp and did not train together before the league started.
“But out first training was here in Abuja and it has not made the players blend well.
“However, our plan is to go back to the drawing board. Look at our lapses and see where we need to make adjustments.
“In the second phase I believe that all basketball followers and our fans will see a different Taraba Hurricanes. I can assure of that,’’ Abba said.
He however warned that his team was not afraid of the other top teams in the league.
